Introduction
Learning the alphabet is one of the first—and most important—things your child will do in school. It serves as the foundation for reading and writing skills. In preschool and Cycle 1, a lot of time is devoted to learning the alphabet at school, but reinforcing this learning at home is always a good idea. That’s why we’ve designed this poster with all the letters of the alphabet in uppercase and lowercase.

To help your child learn, you can incorporate a number of fun activities into your daily routine:
- Trace letters on unusual surfaces (sand, snow, dirt, foggy bathroom mirror, etc.).
- Use a book to play seek and find. For example, say: “Try to find five capital L’s in this picture book.”
- Match the small letter with the big letter. If you have paper, plastic, or magnetic letters around the house, you can ask your child to match the lowercase letters with their uppercase equivalents.
- Make letters with your body. Take turns trying to form a letter with your body. The other person has to guess which one it is!
- Sing the alphabet song. It’s a classic for a reason—it helps with memorization.
