The International System of Units (SI) is an internationally recognized system. It brings together the most commonly used units of measurement to make exchanges in the scientific, technological, and educational fields easier. The table below shows the most commonly used measurement units in physics. In blue are some of the basic units of the international system.

The International System of Units (SI) provides certain prefixes for multiples and submultiples of units of measurement. The symbol of the new unit of measurement formed is composed of two symbols: the multiple and the unit of measurement.
