Pythagoras was an important figure in ancient Greece. He was a mathematician, philosopher and religious reformer. He is renowned for his work in arithmetic, particularly the Pythagorean theorem, music, astronomy, medicine, political science and theology. He was the founder of the Pythagorean school, which lasted for several generations (9 to 10).
