An odd number is a number which is impossible to represent with groups of 2 without having a remainder.
Corps
When you represent an odd number using objects or a drawing and you form groups of 2, there always remains a single object left out. If you can represent the number in groups of 2 without an object remaining, it is an even number.

Thus, number 7 is an odd number because I have a remainder when I form groups of 2.

We can recognize an odd number by looking at the digit in the ones position. Odd numbers end with the following numbers: 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9.
105, 53, 17, 21, 59, 103, and 98 007 are examples of odd numbers because they end with one of those 5 digits.
