In Canada, the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS 2015) is the national standard used to indicate potential hazards of different chemicals. This system encompasses hazard classification, warning labels on containers, safety data sheets, and education and training programs for workers. Since 2015, this system is aligned with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) created by the United Nations (UN).
