Geometric optics studies phenomena concerning the path light takes and particularly its reflections and refractions.

Corps

The different laws determined by Snell and Descartes make it possible to predict the behavior of light during refraction and reflection. These phenomena can be observed when using lenses or mirrors that allow us to observe microscopic or very distant objects.
The laws of reflection and refraction help us to understand and distinguish phenomena such as real images or virtual images, and to study the position and size of an image according to the object’s position.

Lenses that can correct vision defects (left) or the reflection of an object in a mirror (right) are two phenomena that can be explained using geometric optics.
